December DriZone Course Benefits the American Red Cross

BURLINGTON, WA – December 13, 2001 –
Dri-Eaz Products, Inc. hosted a very special session of the DriZone Applied Structural Drying (ASD) School on December 10-12, 2001. While the course curriculum did not change—it remained focused on the hands-on learning of advanced drying techniques for water-damaged buildings—Dri-Eaz donated 100 percent of the course proceeds to the American Red Cross. The benefit class raised over $13,000 for ongoing relief efforts in the wake of the terrorist attacks of September 11.

An incredible response
"The response from our customers was inspiring," said Jim Myers, Customer Care Manager for Dri-Eaz. "Every available space was reserved within 48 hours of our initial announcement of a special DriZone Red Cross Benefit Course. We even created a few extra spots because we had so much interest."

What is DriZone?
DriZone is a three-day course on water damage restoration conducted at the Dri-Eaz Center for Advanced Restorative Drying in Burlington, WA. It emphasizes a "hands-on" approach to drying where students actually put course principles into practice on an 1100 square foot flood house with over 50 different building materials. DriZone is the first ASD course certified by the IICRC.

A first for Dri-Eaz
This is the first time that Dri-Eaz has offered a DriZone course as a charitable benefit. "Like many people across the country, our employees were already actively donating to the Red Cross relief efforts," said Myers. "We thought that a special DriZone course would be a great way to get other industry professionals involved."
