New Dri-Eaz HygroHawk saves restorers’ time and money
BURLINGTON, Washington - Jan. 4, 2005 - The new HygroHawk moisture meter from Dri-Eaz greatly reduces the time it takes restorers to gather critical, precise drying data. With acclimation time of less than 45 seconds and an expanded measurement range, the HygroHawk thermo-hygrometer ensures maximum efficiency and accuracy on the job.
“Restorers take up to eight different moisture readings each time they visit a jobsite - when they arrive and again before they leave - and they don’t have time to wait 10 minutes for a meter to acclimate,” said Brandon Burton, Education Operations Supervisor at Dri-Eaz. “The HygroHawk keeps up with the fast pace of water damage restoration. By delivering the typical reading in less than 45 seconds, it saves restorers hours of time each day, meaning they can work faster and save money.”
Dri-Eaz partnered with GE Protimeter to design the new thermo-hygrometer specifically for water damage restoration, incorporating features requested by Dri-Eaz University students and other top restorers. The HygroHawk’s key features include:
- Fast readings - Acclimates quickly, going from 50 to 90% RH and back in 45 seconds.
- Accurate range - A temperature and humidity range (0 to 100% RH, 32 to 130°F) that’s compatible with restoration environments.
- Replaceable sensor - Houses the recalibration mechanism, so just the sensor goes in for service - not the whole unit.
- Continuous logging - Leave on the job to take readings over time, to document drying progress.
- Dual display - Shows grains per pound (GPP), relative humidity (RH), or dew point along with temperature.
All of the HygroHawk’s features and functions are easy to control with four clearly marked buttons. “Until now, most hygrometers available were originally designed for uses in other industries,” Burton said. “We built the HygroHawk to be the ultimate measurement tool for professional restorers - designed specifically for them, with their input.”
In addition to the HygroHawk, Dri-Eaz has further enhanced its line of moisture meters with the new Aquant. Another GE Protimeter product, the Aquant is an entry-level, non-invasive meter that accurately detects moisture below surfaces - without being adversely affected by surface moisture.
