Dri-Eaz Press Release
New Digital Psychrometric Calculator from Dri-Eaz does it all
Say goodbye to paper charts and slide rules
BURLINGTON, Washington - February 7, 2003 - The new Digital Psychrometric Calculator from Dri-Eaz is proof of the old adage that "good things come in small packages." Not much larger than a business card, Dri-Eaz loaded its new calculator with practical functions to help make it easier for restorers to consistently incorporate the science of psychrometry into their everyday work.
"We found that educating restorers how to use psychrometry and getting them to make it a regular business practice were two different things, " said Bill Bruders, Director of Customer Relations for Dri-Eaz. "Using a psychrometric chart out in the field isn't that practical, so we developed a calculator that eliminates the need for one. Now tracking moisture in grains per pound, or GPP, is both easy and convenient."
Small, but loaded with helpful features
The new Dri-Eaz Digital Psychrometric Calculator performs calculations of GPP, thirst, and dew point: figures grains per pound (GPP) to grams per kilogram (G/KG); and converts temperatures between Celsius to Fahrenheit with just the touch of a few buttons. It can even help a restorer figure the number of airmovers and dehumidifiers they'll need on a job. Plus, it works as a normal calculator! It's truly the only calculator a restoration professional will need.
Psychrometry provides scientific data for better decision-making
Restoration professionals use psychrometry to track the amount of water in the air at a given time. With that information, they're able to adjust the balance of air movement and dehumidification to optimize the rate of evaporation. The Dri-Eaz Applied Structural Drying (ASD) course, now available in both Washington State and Tennessee, educates restorers how to use psychrometry to make better drying and equipment decisions.
